About DataDesign

Buying a gadget means reading a dozen reviews that each tested different things and disagreed about half of them. DataDesign does that reading and lays out what the sources actually say.

What makes a page here different

• Many sources, one place. Each survey draws on the published expert reviews we could reach, not a single opinion.
• A source behind every claim. Numbered citations throughout, with the date we read each page and a link to an archived copy.
• Disagreements kept visible. Where reviewers split, we say so instead of averaging it into mush.
• A score you can audit. Every consensus score can be expanded to show each rating that went into it and how it was weighted.
• Structured data you can reuse. Specifications and scores are published as JSON under CC BY 4.0.

What we are not

We are not a testing lab. We don't have the products, we don't measure them, and we never imply otherwise. Where a claim needs measurement, we cite the outlet that did the measuring.

How it's funded

Advertising pays the running costs. Advertisers have no say in what we cover or what a page concludes.
